New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles has scored two touchdowns in the third quarter against the New York Giants. We break down the fantasy implications.
New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles scored two touchdowns in the third quarter, but the Saints still trail the New York Giants 42-27. Sproles has four carries for 55 yards and a touchdown as well as one reception for a nine-yard touchdown.
Sproles scored on a 13-yard run with 7:21 remaining in the third, and then scored on the nine-yard receptions with 1:51 remaining in the quarter to bring the Saints to within eight points of the Giants. But New York answered by moving down the field and scoring on their next drive early in the fourth quarter.
Fantasy Impact: Mark Ingram is the Saints leading rusher with 68 yards on the day, but Sproles has both of their offensive touchdowns. His big-play ability and versatility continue to make him a strong fantasy option week after week.
Sproles looks to be back at 100% after breaking his hand earlier in the season. Sproles missed three games and did not receive a carry in either of the Saints' two previous games, but is back in the rushing rotation against the Giants.
