A judge is urging the NFL and Saints LB Jonathan Vilma to work toward a settlement. Vilma has filed a lawsuit in an attempt to overturn his suspension for the entire 2012 season. A judge did not issue a ruling on Friday after hearing arguments in the case. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Vilma on the grounds that he was one of the leaders of the bounty program that offered cash for injuring opposing players.
Analysis: Without a ruling, Vilma's status isn't going to change but a settlement would certainly improve the unit's fantasy value if Vilma can get back on the field. That being said, New Orleans is going to be one of the biggest uncertainties in fantasy football this season and there is no reason to trust this unit because of the fallout from the bounty scandal. There are plenty of more stable options.
