Mike Wallace is reportedly working out hard on his own in Florida, and will likely report to Pittsburgh Steelers training camp in the near future. We break down the fantasy implications.
Mike Wallace is working out in Florida, away from Pittsburgh Steelers training camp, with personal conditioning coach Tom Shaw. Shaw told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Live that Wallace is doing everything he can to prepare for the season outside of contact drills, and will likely report to Pittsburgh in the near future.
"He's been holding out because he feels he's given three good years to the Steelers, and you have only so much time to make money (in the NFL)," Shaw said.
Analysis: It's great to hear that Wallace is staying in shape, albeit from what may or may not be a biased source. Most holdouts eventually get settled, so the speedy deep threat is probably still worth a high flyer in fantasy drafts. The Steelers clearly have a lot of faith in Antonio Brown, however, so you may have to deal with some frustrating boom-or-bust tendencies.
