Analysis: Stewart was heading into a contract year with Carolina and would have been an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2012 season. Stewart is still expected to go into a full-blown split of the carries with DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert getting sprinkled in the rotation as well. Williams is still under contract until 2016 and unless either back gets released or traded, it looks like they'll be hitched to the same wagon for a while. Although, it's worth noting that Williams has no guaranteed money beyond this season. Both backs were extremely effective last year with each averaging over five yards per carry. As for their fantasy value this year, it's not looking good. Cam Newton and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski are poised to air it out in a pass-heavy attack. Stewart and Williams will need the other to go down in order to conjure up decent fantasy value in standard leagues.
