The Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Chad Johnson this week and the immediate speculation was that the Dallas Cowboys could be interested in adding him to help their thin receiving corps. However, head coach Jason Garrett has said that Johnson is not on their radar. It's likely that Johnson will remain a free agent until he gets his recent legal woes settled and a team becomes desperate to bolster their receiving unit.
Fantasy Implications: It's really been two years since Johnson was relevant in fantasy after having completely disappeared in New England last season. He had just 276 yards in 15 games with one touchdown and his last 100-yard receiving game came on October 24, 2010 with the Bengals. Johnson seemed humbled and ready to get back to work on HBO's Hard Knocks with the Miami Dolphins, but his recent domestic dispute seems to have set him back again. The Cowboys really do need help at wide receiver, but Johnson doesn't seem like a fit and Garrett re-iterates that they aren't looking in his direction.
