Arizona Cardinals rookie WR Michael Floyd is still behind Andre Roberts and Early Doucet on the team's depth chart. We break down the fantasy implications.
Arizona Cardinals rookie WR Michael Floyd is still behind Andre Roberts and Early Doucet on the team's depth chart heading into Friday's preseason game with Oakland. The first-round draft pick out of Notre Dame has been featured mostly in four-receiver sets in training camp. Standout receiver Larry Fitzgerald tells the team's website that Floyd should have a complementary role until he gets comfortable and can be featured more.
Analysis: The team used a first-round pick on Floyd so it's hard to believe he won't be more relevant in the offense by the end of the season, but terms like complementary role don't inspire a lot of confidence for fantasy football owners. Floyd should be able to work his way into a role eventually, but owners should not invest much in him on draft day unless they are in a keeper or league or have a deep bench.
