John Skelton will start against the Titans on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Arizona quarterback John Skelton will be the Cardinals starter when they face the Titans on Thursday for their fourth preseason game. Skelton and Kevin Kolb have been in a competition to be the starter for the entire offseason and this could be a sign that Skelton has taken the lead and might start against the Seahawks in week one. Kolb is 5-of-15 for 47 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT in the preseason while Skelton is 10-of-15 for 90 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Fantasy Implications: Skelton is bigger than Kolb and flat out played better last season, but the Cardinals have been hoping that Kolb would win the job based on what they are paying him and what they gave up to get him from the Eagles. Either way, I'm not convinced that whoever starts for the Cardinals will be worth starting in fantasy this season. There seems to be a popular misconception that having Larry Fitzgerald will make the Cardinals starter worth owning, but Fitzgerald has always been good while Arizona has searched for a franchise quarterback every year. No matter who wins the job, I'd stay in a holding pattern until one of them proves themselves during the season.
