Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman says he enjoyed seeing how New England's Tom Brady goes about his pre-snap reads and calls. The two teams practiced together on Wednesday ahead of Friday night's game. Freeman also says the Bucs have a good fundamental grasp of coordinator Mike Sullivan's offense at this point.
Analysis: No one is expecting Freeman to morph into Brady this season, especially in a new offense. However, the Bucs and fantasy owners are going to want more than last year when he threw 16 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Freeman is heading into his fourth season and plays in the same division as Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton. If Tampa Bay is going to succeed, Freeman's quarterback play will need to be closer to that level for the Bucs to be a factor in the NFC South. If it does, it will be good news for fantasy owners who take him in the later rounds. Freeman is a No. 2 fantasy quarterback on draft day.
