Cornerback Joe Haden was physically removed from Browns' practice by coach Pat Shurmur Wednesday morning for being a little too rough, according to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland. Shurmur and Haden have since discussed the issue, and the team is moving on. Haden was reportedly warned not to tackle his teammates but proceeded to continue the rough play. Grossi says he could not recall a player ever being removed from practice.
Analysis: While this seems to be a non-issue, it's somewhat encouraging for Browns fans to see Joe Haden playing with this kind of an edge. Haden is the tone setter for Cleveland's defense, and while he clearly took things too far on Wednesday, the Browns will benefit from his mean streak once the regular season begins. The bigger news regarding Haden is what may come of his positive drug test.
