San Diego Chargers offensive tackle Jared Gaither is still not close to returning to practice. We break down the fantasy implications.
San Diego Chargers offensive tackle Jared Gaither is still not close to returning to practice, according to Scott Bair of the North County Times. Gaither has struggled through training camp with what is being classified as back spasms. He signed a lucrative contract this offseason after shutting down pass-rushers and protecting Philip Rivers' blindside for the final five games of the 2011 season.
Analysis: Philip Rivers suffered a down year in 2011. Many speculate that he may have had an undisclosed injury. With the offensive line still a huge question mark in San Diego, Gaither's health is of huge importance. Without a healthy Rivers, the Chargers' offense will not function. Considering the contract Gaither signed this offseason, pressure will start to mount if he does not return to the practice field soon. His lazy habits already got him cut from the Chiefs and Ravens.
