Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will miss Thursday's game because of the birth of his second child. We break down the fantasy implications.
Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will miss Thursday's preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of the birth of his second child, Finley announced via Twitter. Finley hasn't played this preseason in part because of a quadriceps injury. It is not yet known if he will play in Green Bay's final preseason game. Starters are typically held out of the game to rest up before the start of the regular season.
Analysis: It's good news that it has nothing to do with an injury, but the Packers probably would have liked for him to get a few reps in during the preseason. He and Greg Jennings have had limited practice time and the Packers are running out of chances to give them game action. Finley is normally a Top 5 fantasy tight end and there's no reason to think he won't be by the end of the season.
