Jason Witten will visit a doctor on Tuesday for an update on his spleen injury and possibly a return date. We break down the fantasy implications.
Cowboys tight end Jason Witten will visit a doctor on Tuesday for an update on his recovery from a lacerated spleen, and possibly news on when he will be able to return to game action. Head coach Jason Garrett told reporters that "everything is going fairly well with him," noting that all of these updates were expected from the onset. Witten has been almost completely held out of action since suffering the injury in the Cowboys preseason opener and is still questionable to return by Dallas's week one game against the Giants.
Fantasy Implications: As noted throughout these updates on Witten, he's been one of the most healthy players in the NFL during his career, missing just one game in nine years. He's also been very consistent in production and almost an automatic 1,000 yards from the tight end position, but we must re-adjust our expectations at least until he visits with doctors on Tuesday.
