Newly added wide receiver Jordan Shipley could see action Friday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We break down the fantasy implications.
Receiver Jordan Shipley is expected to see action Friday night for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, despite having been with the team for a matter of days. Coach Greg Schiano says Shipley will play late in the game as coaches "kind of spoon feed him." Shipley was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals and is recovering from a serious knee injury. Shipley may also play a role as a punt returner.
Analysis: It's hard to imagine Shipley playing much of a role for Tampa Bay this season, especially if his knee isn't 100 percent. If he is able to contribute as a punt returner, he could add some value as the season goes along for fantasy owners who have Tampa Bay as a D/ST unit but that isn't a good enough reason to draft them. Shipley showed some potential with the Bengals but it's curious that they would let him go if they thought he could contribute.
