Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez and the rest of the New York Jets' starters will sit out the team's fourth preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 30, against the Philadelphia Eagles, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports. Teams typically rest their starters for the final game of preseason to avoid injuries for the start of the regular season.
Analysis: Tebow is the only mildly surprising thing about this announcement since he isn't technically a starter. It should be noted that head coach Rex Ryan and the Jets are going through great lengths to keep Tebow and their plans to utilize him under wraps, however. It's clear at this point that the enigmatic quarterback will be more than just a gimmick within the Jets' offense. Whether he is actually effective, or worth your time as a savvy fantasy owner remains to be seen.
