New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty and tight end Travis Beckum have been placed on the physically unable to perform list. We break down the fantasy implications.

New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty has been placed on the physically unable to perform list, along with tight end Travis Beckum. Both players had offseason knee surgery and have not practiced. Neither player will be eligible to return to the field for the Giants until Week 7.

Analysis: Not having Canty is the bigger blow here for the Giants. He has been a starter for the last two years on a very good defensive line that does a good job of pressuring the quarterback. The Giants as a D/ST unit will be a solid play in some weeks because they force turnovers. Fantasy owners need not worry about Beckum, as Martellus Bennett is expected to get most of the tight end targets in the Giants offense. Beckum was hurt in the Super Bowl and was never going to be ready for Week 1.
