Miles Austin says he will play in the Dallas Cowboys' regular season opener against the New York Giants, according to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Austin has been held out all of preseason while dealing with his troublesome hamstring. There is no word yet whether he will appears in the Cowboys' fourth preseason game on Wednesday.
Analysis: More than likely Austin will rest along with the rest of the Cowboys' starters in preparation for the regular season. Austin never appeared to be in any serious danger of missing the regular season opener, though it's good to get some confirmation from the receiver himself. He is an elite option when healthy. Unfortunately, Austin missed six games last season with injuries to both of his hamstrings and seems likely to have at least some trouble in 2012.
