Daniel Thomas had five carries for 31 yards during the Miami Dolphins' loss to the Dallas Cowboys' in their preseason finale Wednesday. Of those 31 yards, 19 came on one run during the first quarter. Rookie Lamar Miller led the Dolphins with 60 yards rushing and a touchdown on 17 carries.
Analysis: Miller is explosive, but so is Reggie Bush. Miller will have a tough time seeing the field considering how similar his skillset is to the incumbent starter's. Should anything happen to Bush, however, there's a good chance that Miller could leapfrog Thomas on the depth chart. Thomas has been rather disappointing in his short time with the Dolphins. He appears to be the short-yardage back, but it's difficult to see his role expanding much.
