Running back D.J. Ware says he's been released by the New York Giants. Ware posted the news on Twitter on Friday morning. Ware had been competing for a role behind starter Ahmad Bradshaw. The team will likely now stay with Bradshaw, David Wilson, Andre Brown and Da'Rel Scott. Ware had spent five seasons with the Giants.
Analysis: This is not a complete surprise with the emergence of Wilson. Ware had seen his playing time in the preseason drop and likely would not have been much of a factor in New York's offense this season. His departure does create a clear pecking order at running back with Bradshaw and Wilson the clear favorites to get almost all of the work.
