The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released wide receiver Tiquan Underwood on Friday, according to Stephen Holder. Underwood has now spent time with three NFL teams and been cut by each. After being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars out of Rutgers, Underwood played with the New England Patriots before joining the Bucs. Underwood is considered to be a deep threat.
Analysis: This was a somewhat surprising cut for the Buccaneers, but Underwood wasn't likely to contribute a whole lot anyways. Tampa Bay brought in Vincent Jackson and will be hoping for Mike Williams to rebound entering 2012. They also boast a pretty deep crop at wide receiver. The Bucs figure to run the football a lot as well. Underwood had a solid summer, but it wasn't enough.
