Trent Richardson's MRI on his left knee is "not that big a deal" according to a source with knowledge of the situation, Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com reports. Richardson sat out practice Tuesday with a sore left knee and had his status for the Cleveland Browns' preseason opener this weekend called into question. The Browns will have an official update prior to Wednesday's evening practice.
Analysis: Whether Richardson plays Friday against the Detroit Lions remains to be seen. Even if healthy, Cleveland may choose to play it safe with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Nonetheless, Browns fans and potential fantasy owners have to be breathing a big sigh of relief at the moment. Richardson is set to feature in a run-heavy offense should he stay healthy. Montario Hardesty and Brandon Jackson are currently battling for the top backup spot.
