Rookie running back Ronnie Hillman may miss the Denver Broncos' preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night after suffering a hamstring injury on Aug. 1, the Denver Post reports. Though Hillman was cleared to practice Tuesday, he has been limited since.
Analysis: Hillman currently sits third on the depth chart behind Willis McGahee and Lance Ball after being taken out of San Diego State during the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. It'd be a lot to ask of the rookie to become a reliable fantasy contributor in standard leagues this season, assuming McGahee and Ball stay healthy. Hillman also has to contend for carries with Knowshon Moreno, who has slipped down the depth chart as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered last November.
Even if Moreno becomes vaporware, however, don't expect Hillman to see the field too often except perhaps on third downs.
