Fantasy War Room: How About Practice Squad Fantasy Football?

Stay connected with SB Nation

The SB Nation Fantasy War Room sponsored by Sprint returns tonight at 4:00 p.m. ET. We will be here to provide live advice following the roster cuts and practice squad signings.

Welcome back to the 2012 Fantasy War Room sponsored by Sprint, where we'll be answering your fantasy football questions from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET! No league is too big or too complicated.

The preseason is all wrapped up and teams have spent today making waiver claims and signing players to their practice squads. These are all moves that have little to no bearing on 2012 fantasy football, but you never know what might happen down the road. I don't expect dynasty leagues to even be drafting and claiming these guys, but they should be on the periphery of your radar if you are in such a league.

If this is your first time commenting at SB Nation, it is a fairly easy process. You have one of two options:

1) On the top right side of the page, you'll see Log In and Sign Up. Click on Sign Up.
2) Inside this post, scroll to the bottom of the page, and you should see an option that says "Something to say? Choose one of these options to log in." In there you can create a new SB Nation Account.

As you're getting ready for your drafts. SB Nation Fantasy will have plenty of resources to help you in your drafts. The War Room is a resource in and of itself, but we'll also be updating our positional rankings throughout the coming week. For now, you can check out our latest quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end rankings. And don't forget our Top 100 Cheat Sheets for PPR leagues and standard leagues.

How To Post

If you have a question, go down in the comments below and post the question in the subject line. In the message portion, include a quick rundown of pertinent facts about your league. Fantasy football has evolved to a point where most leagues differ on numerous issues. In order to best assist you on draft night, we will need to know some of the basics of your league.

You don't need to spell out every single point category, but things like where you have points per reception (PPR) and whether you have passing touchdowns equal to rushing touchdowns are incredibly important in determining drafting strategy. PPR vs. non-PPR is generally the most important distinction, but if you have any other rule tweaks that impact decisions, let us know so we can provide as much help as possible.

All official SB Nation answers will come from the user SB Nation Fantasy. For tonight, the first hour and a half will feature by David Fucillo of Niners Nation. While David is a 49ers fan, he has generally been able to get around his 49ers biases in his draft advice. The remaining time will be covered by Scott Gerhart of Fake Teams. He has been playing fantasy football since 1994, and his first wide receiver trio consisted of Herman Moore, Jerry Rice and Cris Carter. Not a bad trio of receivers back in the day!

Others are more than welcome to throw in their own two cents. Just click on the reply button and let people know what you think works for a given draft situation.
