Heath Miller Fantasy Stock Could Rise After Solid Night Sunday

DENVER, CO - SEPTEMBER 09: Tight end Heath Miller #83 of the Pittsburgh Steelers makes a reception to the 3-yard line and is taken down by Rahim Moore #26 of the Denver Broncos in the first half during the NFL season opener at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on September 9, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. Heath Miller caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's game between the Steelers and Broncos. We break down the fantasy implications.

Heath Miller had four receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. Miller was the team's third-most targeted pass catcher with seven targets on the night. His score came from four yards out late in the first quarter.

Analysis: One of Miller's biggest issues last season in fantasy was his frustrating lack of targets in the red zone. His touchdown Sunday is hopefully a good sign that the Steelers are refocusing on the veteran tight end near the end zone instead of leaving him by the wayside. He seems geared for the role more so than any of the Steelers' other pass catchers. Definitely wait on Miller to make sure that his big night isn't an outlier, but so far so good.
