Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has been named the NFL's NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the New Orleans Saints. We break down the fantasy implications.

Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced on Wednesday. Griffin completed 19 of 26 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns in his NFL debut against the New Orleans Saints. The first touchdown pass went for 88 yards to Pierre Garcon. Washington plays the St. Louis Rams in Week 2.

Fantasy Impact: Griffin was about as good as could be expected in Week 1 against New Orleans and fantasy owners who started him were certainly rewarded. There will likely be dips as the season goes along but Griffin has the chance to be a solid fantasy starter quickly. Week 2 against the Rams could be another good outing for Griffin and the Redskins.
