Jonathan Dwyer will likely earn more carries this week after performing well in the Steelers' season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jonathan Dwyer could be in line for an increased role within the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Dwyer rushed for 43 yards on nine carries Sunday against the Denver Broncos. He outperformed Isaac Redman, who rushed for just 20 yards on 11 carries.

Analysis: Dwyer may have jumped Redman on the depth chart due to his solid performance this past weekend, but that doesn't necessarily mean the two won't split carries. Then there's Rashard Mendenhall to factor in. Whether he will be able to return to the field this week will hopefully become clearer as the week goes on. If he can't, Dwyer becomes a more palatable fantasy option. If Mendenhall is healthy, then good luck figuring out who to start from the Steelers' backfield.
