Trent Richardson's knee has not experienced any swelling since his rookie debut Sunday, Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters Wednesday. Shurmur said that Richardson should be healthier in practice this week as the running back recovers from early-August arthroscopic knee surgery. Richardson rushed for just 39 yards on 19 carries against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Analysis: Richardson appeared to be missing some of the burst that made him the No. 3 overall pick in April's NFL Draft, and the fact that fellow rookie Brandon Weeden completed just 34.3 percent of his passes for a 5.1 passer rating only added more pressure on the running back. Still, it's appears that Cleveland will be giving Richardson a full workload every week if he's on the field. A Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals could be difficult, however.
