Jacoby Ford underwent Lisfranc surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss a significant portion of the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jacoby Ford underwent surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury Wednesday, Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times reports. The wide receiver is expected to miss a significant period of time, though an exact timetable has not been specified. Ford suffered a foot injury early in preseason and had been held out of practice since.

Analysis: Darren McFadden suffered a similar injury last season and missed six games. Ford will not only be useless for fantasy purposes for a good portion of the season, but rookies Rod Streater and Juron Criner now have the opportunity to move ahead on the depth chart. Ford struggled in his brief appearance during preseason.
