Jeremy Kerley is expected play in Sunday's game between the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jets head coach Rex Ryan confirmed Wednesday. Kerley is suffering from a sore back after playing well in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. He was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for returning a punt 68 yards for a touchdown. He also caught four passes for 45 yards and another score.
Analysis: Kerley was a relatively sexy waiver target this week, but he's a long way from being a reliable starting option in standard leagues. Kick return touchdowns aren't something to bank on every week, nor is expecting the Jets offense to click like it did against the Bills. Expect the offense to regress towards the mean a bit, limiting Kerley's opportunities for touches.
