Cedric Benson was a solid runner for the Packers Thursday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Packers could not get anything going on the ground against San Francisco in Week 1, but they were determined to keep Cedric Benson running in the right direction on Thursday. Benson finished with 81 yards on 20 carries, with an extra four receptions for 35 yards.
Fantasy Impact: If the Packers continued to operate in this balanced, slow-paced system, Benson would likely have a lot of value. However, they are going to be passing the ball more often in the future, and there's no telling what Benson will accomplish as the season progresses. He's a low end running back right now, and that should be it until you're certain Green Bay will be sticking with the ground game.
