Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton is doubtful for the team's game on Sunday against the New England Patriots. We break down the fantasy implications.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton is doubtful for the team's game on Sunday against the New England Patriots, according to Mike Jureki. Skelton injured his ankle in the Cardinals' season opening win over the Seattle Seahawks. Ken Whisenhunt said that he is hopeful Skelton will play on Sunday, but the outlook is not promising at this point. Kevin Kolb will get the start if Skelton is unable to play.

Fantasy Impact: The biggest beneficiary of Skelton's potential absence is the New England Patriots defense. Kolb looked lost in the preseason, and while he was decent in relief against the Seahawks, playing at New England will be a different animal. Larry Fitzgerald is definitely downgraded if Skelton can't play. He has a much better connection with Skelton than he does Kolb
