Rashard Mendenhall is doubtful for Week 2 against the Jets. We break down the fantasy implications.
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (ACL surgery) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Mendenhall missed the entire preseason rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered last season. Despite an (alleged) full practice this week, he's not likely to suit up Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: Note I said "alleged full practice". Pittsburgh's injury report shouldn't be taken at face value - Mendenhall was listed as a full participant last week, but later admitted to barely practicing and was inactive against the Broncos, and most sources don't expect him to be ready until October. At this point, just assume the Steelers are playing gameplan mind games with opponents until proven otherwise. Jonathan Dwyer is the obvious fantasy play at RB this week.
