Brent Grimes Injury Update: Torn Achilles Hurts Falcons Fantasy Defense

KANSAS CITY, MO - SEPTEMBER 09: Cornerback Brent Grimes #20 of the Atlanta Falcons taunts guard Ryan Lilja #65 of the Kansas City Chiefs after the Falcons intercepted the ball during the game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 9, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images)

Brent Grimes is out for the year. We break down the fantasy implications.

Brent Grimes will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon.

Analysis: This was a huge blow to Atlanta's defense since Grimes plays every down and they aren't very deep. The acquisition of Asante Samuel will mean a lot and now he will have to play more man-to-man coverage. Dunta Robnson is still around and he hasn't quite been the same since joining Atlanta from Houston. Atlanta will need a strong pass D with the way that their offense is expected to put up huge points. William Moore may gain some fantasy value at safety and the D/ST should be a low-end D1 for the season.
