We're back for Week 2 of the 2012 NFL season. The Packers and Bears kicked things off on Thursday, although Brandon Marshall might have forgotten he had a Thursday Night Football contest. The rest of the NFL though is back today and tomorrow to get you to 2-0 in your fantasy league, or maybe get you off the schneid.

We have been providing you with rankings all week long, but as Sunday dawns, it would be helpful to have some projections as well. Our Week 2 wide receiver rankings are based on our pool of knowledge and often a bit of gut instinct. To improve your chances this year, we are going to provide Sunday projections courtesy of the folks at numberFire. numberFire uses series of mathematical models, to break down the action and figure out who exactly is performing well. They use the power of predictive and regressive modeling to more accurately project future performance.

Much like last week, the most noticeable difference in SB Nation Fantasy rankings versus numberFire's projections has to be Julio Jones. SB Nation Fantasy ranks him first in standard leagues and second in PPR leagues. It is a bit surprising to see numberFire projecting him at No. 15. The Broncos are solid, but this seems a bit low. We'll see how they compare by the end of the day.

numberFire claims a higher predictive rate than the major companies (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!). However, as with anything in fantasy football, we at SB Nation Fantasy view numberFire as one more weapon in your arsenal to claim victory. The numbers can help over the long term, but there are enough variables week-to-week that multiple sources can provide great value.
