A Sunday report indicates Jonathan Stewart is expected to play against the Saints. We break down the fantasy implications.
NFL Network's Stacey Dales reported Sunday morning that Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is expected to play in the team's Week 2 home contest against the New Orleans Saints. Stewart was limited in practice on Friday and is currently listed as questionable for the game.
Fantasy Impact: Stewart sat out last week and watched the Panthers running game lay an egg against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The potential return of Stewart lowers DeAngelo Williams value. Given that this game could turn into a shootout, the rushing attacks could prove somewhat limited as well. Stewart would be the start over Williams, but as no more than a low-end two or flex play this week.
