Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith left Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with an apparent leg injury after being interfered with in the end zone. He has returned to the game. We break down the fantasy implications.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith left Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints with an apparent leg injury after being interfered with in the end zone. Smith cramped up and was taken to the locker room to be treated for dehydration. He was likely given fluids, as he returned to the sidelines just moments later. Smith had just two catches for 38 yards before being carted off to the locker room. He is now back in the game for the Panthers.
Fantasy Impact: Steve Smith's injury seems to be minor to the relief of his fantasy owners. Smith was dealing with knee soreness in practice this week, but this injury was unrelated. While he has a friendly matchup against the Saints, Smith hasn't been able to put up big number with the Panthers' running game doing most of the work.
