Evan Habeeb-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
The Week 2 PPR Target Report for Tight Ends is out, and there are a few guys you may want to consider grabbing on your Waiver Wire for Week 3.
In Week 2, we saw more and more tight ends used in their team's passing games, from Saints' Jimmy Graham to Eagles' Brent Celek to 49ers' Vernon Davis. Ravens' tight end Dennis Pitta lead the way with 15 targets on Sunday, as he is becoming a prominent member of the Ravens offense. If you play in a three receiver PPR league, I suggest grabbing some of these guys if they are on your league Waiver Wire, as they could outperform some wide receiver 3s on rosters right now.
Let's take a look at the tight ends who were targeted the most in Week 2:

Hit the Bullseye
Brent Celek, PHI
Celek was one the most targeted tight ends in the second half of 2011, and he has picked up where he left off last season, as he was targeted 11 times by quarterback Michael Vick in Week 2, catching eight of them for a whopping 157 yards and a 19.6 yards per catch. He tas been targeted 22 times already this season, so he appears to be one of Vick's favorite targets thus far.
Vernon Davis, SF
Davis was huge in the playoffs last season, and he had a huge game on Sunday, as he was targeted seven times by quarterback Alex Smith, catching five of them, with two going for touchdowns. I see Davis becoming a bigger part of the 49ers offense and he could score ten or more touchdowns this season.
Missed the Mark
Fred Davis, WAS
Some had Davis as a top 10 tight end heading into the season, but Davis has been targeted just nine times by rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III thus far, and he could miss time after suffering a concussion on Sunday.
Jermichael Finley, GB
After receiving 11 targets in Week 1, Finley's targets were cut in half this week as the Packers and Bears played a close to the vest game, as the defenses dominated the line of scrimmage. Finley caught four of his five targets on Thursday night, but only managed 26 yards for fantasy owners, and has yet to hit pay dirt in the first two weeks of the season. I see that changing over the next week or two.
