Rashard Mendenhall Full Participant in Practice: Fantasy Implications

ARLINGTON TX - FEBRUARY 06: Rashard Mendenhall #34 and Ramon Foster #73 of the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrate after Mendenhall rushes for an 8 yard touchdown against the Green Bay Packers during Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium on February 6 2011 in Arlington Texas. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall was a full participant in practice this week. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall was a full participant in practice, via Ken Laird. He has made strides coming back from injury, and this week, he was actually a participant in contact drills. The Pittsburgh Steelers play the Oakland Raiders this weekend and Mendenhall's status is still up in the air.

Fantasy Analysis: This is a great sign for Mendenhall but it's still doubtful that he's active this weekend against the Raiders. Pittsburgh is not going to rush him into action, especially when they can probably defeat Oakland with Isaac Redman and their dynamic passing offense. Mendenhall has shown improvement and could be starting sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, fantasy owners need to hang tight.
