San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was a full participant in practice this week. We breakdown the fantasy implications.
San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates (ribs) participated in practice this week after missing Week 2, via Michael Gehlken. The Chargers will take on the Atlanta Falcons this week and they will need all the firepower they can get. Gates was limited in practice before not being active in Week 2, so there is a good chance he's good to go this weekend.
Fantasy Analysis: Gates has been difficult to judge with his injury history, but when he's on the field, he's as productive as any tight end. He is a big part of the Chargers offense and a favorite target of quarterback Phillip Rivers. If Gates is a no go, owners should look for Dante Rosario on the waiver wire. But if Gates is indeed active versus Atlanta in Week 3, he is a must-start.
