Ryan Mathews is expected to make his 2012 debut in Sunday's game between the Chargers and Falcons. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ryan Mathews is listed as questionable, but is expected to play in Sunday's game between the San Diego Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons. Mathews will be making his season debut, after breaking his collarbone and undergoing surgery in the preseason.

Fantasy Impact: Just how effective Mathews will be, and what kind of workload he will see is still unknown at this point. He has elite potential as a fantasy option when healthy, however owners may be wise not to rush the running back into their starting lineups. He should probably be weighed among several Flex options in standard leagues, at this point. Long-term, he will be eventually be an every-week option assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks.
