Calvin Johnson had 10 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets during Sunday's game between the Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans. Titus Young and Nate Burleson also had solid outings. Young caught six passes on seven targets for 75 yards and a game-tying Hail Mary touchdown. Burleson was targeted 12 times, and finished with 10 receptions for 69 yards and a score of his own.
Fantasy Impact: The roles of each receiver within the Lions offense is becoming clearer. Johnson is the omni-option, and arguably should have been targeted even more during the Lions' loss. There is no questioning that he is a weekly starter in every fantasy format. Young and Burleson are trickier. Several quick scores by the Titans gave the Lions more snaps than usual, leading to a lot of big outings. Normally, there won't be enough targets to go around for all three wideouts to be productive. Burleson is a solid PPR option working out of the slot, but Young has better upside as a deep threat. Both are WR3/Flex plays at best most weeks.
