Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says running back Cedric Benson is not guaranteed more touches in Week 4 against a New Orleans defense that allowed more than 230 yards rushing last week. We break down the fantasy implications.
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy is guaranteeing that running back Cedric Benson will get more carries than usual this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. McCarthy said (via The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) that the game would dictate the way Benson is used on Sunday. Benson had 17 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact: Benson figures to get his share of chances against New Orleans, which allowed Jamaal Charles to rush for 233 yards on 33 carries in Week 3. Benson is nowhere near as explosive as Charles but he will be a solid No. 2 fantasy option at running back this weekend. This could be the week the entire Green Bay offense clicks.
