Julian Edelman, Aaron Hernandez out for Patriots in Week 4: Fantasy implications

Mitch Stringer-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Julian Edelman and Aaron Hernandez have been ruled out for the Patriots' Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. We break down the fantasy implications.

Julian Edelman and Aaron Hernandez have been ruled out for Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills, according to Christopher Price of WEEI.com. Edelman missed practice this past week after suffering a hand injury during last Sunday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Hernandez has sat since suffering an ankle injury in Week 2 of the regular season, though he is reportedly progressing quickly.

Fantasy Impact: Wes Welker stands to benefit the most with Edelman and Hernandez out. Welker has been in the center of small media firestorm over his lack of snaps relative to Edelman. Some suggested that Welker was being phased out of the Pats' passing game, but even if that is the case it certainly isn't happening this week with Tom Brady in need of passing targets. Expect Welker to be a solid starting option in standard and PPR leagues this week.
