Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton says there is no reason his team can't win the NFC West this season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton says there is "no reason" the Cardinals can't beat out the San Francisco 49ers and win the NFC West. Appearing Wednesday on The Dan Patrick Show, Skelton said the key was getting off to a better start than the 1-6 record the Cardinals had after seven games last season and cutting down on mistakes. Skelton beat out Kevin Kolb to win the starting job for the Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact: Anyone who watched the Cardinals in the preseason probably doesn't share Skelton's optimism. Skelton and Larry Fitzgerald would have to have monster seasons to make this happen, not that Fitzgerald owners would be opposed to that kind of a development. Skelton is not currently a viable fantasy option, while Fitzgerald owners have to hope for improvement.
