Vincent Brown was placed on injured reserve with a broken ankle Tuesday. He is eligible to return later in the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Vincent Brown was placed on injured reserve by the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday, the team announced on its official site. He will be eligible to join the team later in the season as the Chargers' "Designated to Return" player. Brown is recovering from a broken ankle suffered on Aug 18.

Analysis: Brown will not be able to practice with team for the first six weeks of the regular season, and cannot return until the eighth week per the new NFL IR rule. Brown was having a solid offseason until hitting a snag during the team's third preseason game. He could be an intriguing midseason pickup in standard fantasy football leagues, but for the moment you'll probably want to leave him on waivers.
