Dustin Keller missed Jets practice Wednesday, but coach Rex Ryan was hopeful that the tight end would be able to play against the Bills on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Dustin Keller missed practice with the New York Jets on Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports. According to Cimini, head coach Rex Ryan said Thursday that he is hopeful that Keller will play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, "but didn't sound convincing." Keller left the Jets' third preseason game in the first quarter with a right hamstring injury, and has been held out or limited in practice since.
Analysis: Be sure to follow up, but you should start looking for a replacement if Keller is slotted as your starting tight end for Week 1 at the moment. Keller ranked sixth among tight ends with a career-high 815 yards off 65 receptions last season. His five touchdowns were a disappointment, however, as was his inconsistency. Keller posted five games with less than 40 yards receiving.
