Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is hoping to play in Week 1, but says it's up to the team to make that decision. We break down the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson told reporters on Thursday that he wants to play in Week 1 but is deferring to the team on that decision. Peterson is recovering from a major knee injury and is expected to be a game-time decision for the season-opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact: This changes very little when it comes to Peterson's status for Week 1. He sounds like someone who really wants to play but fantasy owners are almost certainly going to have to wait until Sunday to find out if he will. Peterson is a risk in to use in Week 1 and is at best a flex play or No. 3 running back.
