Shane Vereen sat out Patriots practice with a lower leg injury Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Shane Vereen missed New England Patriots practice Thursday with an undisclosed lower leg injury, Shalise Young of the Boston Globe reports. Vereen has now missed six consecutive practices, making his status for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans highly questionable. Stevan Ridley could take on a feature role in the Pats' offense if Vereen is on the sideline.

Analysis: The stars are aligning for Ridley to make a big impact for the Patriots. He is the only member of the rushing corps that qualifies as a "big back," and he appears to be the only one capable of carrying a full load with Vereen hindered. Whether Bill Belichick will cooperate with fantasy owners is another question. He has stuck with a platoon system in the past, and could be quick to yank Ridley if fumbling problems rear their ugly head again.
