Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid isn't saying publicly who will be the backup running back to LeSean McCoy in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.
Editor Update: CSN Philly reports that Bryce Brown has secured the No. 2 the running back spot ahead of Dion Lewis. Brown will apparently see carries even in non-garbage time, and is likely to be the Eagles' feature back should LeSean McCoy miss extended playing time for any reason.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid declined to say on Friday who will be the team's No. 2 running back in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. It will either be Bryce Brown or Dion Lewis, but Brown has told reporters that he's seen an increase in reps in practice. Reid has said that the team may reduce the number of touches for LeSean McCoy, so Brown may get a few carries.
Fantasy Impact: LeSean McCoy owners should not view Brown or Lewis as a serious threat to McCoy's playing time but Brown appears to be the name to keep in mind should something happen to Philadelphia's No. 1 back. McCoy is one of the most explosive players in the NFL and an elite fantasy RB. Owners should start him with confidence in all formats.
