Arian Foster did not practice Friday and is questionable for Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster missed practice Friday with an undisclosed knee injury, and his status for Week 1 is suddenly up in the air. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Foster will be a game time decision after getting hurt in a non-contact drill Thursday. Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed that Foster had an MRI that came back clean and is optimistic but not encouraging about his status. Foster himself expects to play, and claims the soreness comes from working too hard.
Fantasy Impact: We'll keep you updated on this story all the way up to kickoff Sunday, but now is a good time to remind readers of the value of fantasy handcuffs. Foster is an elite talent and rightfully went No. 1 in most fantasy drafts, but the Texans have arguably the best backup in the league in Ben Tate, who is more than capable of handling the workload himself. If you were savvy enough to grab both players for your team, you should be breathing easier than usual.
