Kevin Smith was not listed on the Detroit Lions' injury report Friday, per the team's official site. Smith has been battling an ankle injury suffered during the Lions' third preseason game in August. He is expected to be the Lions' featured running back in Week 1 against the St. Louis Rams.
Analysis: Smith has a potentially cushy matchup Sunday against a Rams defense that ranked 28th in the league last season giving up 4.8 yards per carry. He appears to be at relatively full strength and Keiland Williams isn't expected to leech many carries. Smith's value could take a big hit once Mikel LeShoure returns from suspension in Week 3. In the mean time, he's worth riding in standard fantasy leagues.
